UK company search FAQs
Where does Intelio’s company data come from?
Every record comes from the official Companies House register - the same source banks and solicitors use. Each company is indexed by its SIC code, so you can search individual businesses or entire sectors. No estimates or third-party data: every figure traces back to a filed document.
How do I search for a UK company?
Three ways: by company name (with instant suggestions as you type), by 8-digit company number for an exact match, or by postcode to find every registered company at an address.
What can I see on a company profile?
Everything: company status, incorporation date, registered address, directors, full filing history, five-year financials, group structure, charges and CSV export - all free.
How are directors linked across companies?
Intelio resolves director records to the same underlying person using their appointment details, so one director profile shows every company they’re currently appointed to - plus their past appointments - instead of disconnected records.
Can I see a company’s property and location data?
Yes - this is unique to Intelio. Company records are linked to HM Land Registry titles and ONS census demographics, so from any company you can see the properties it owns and the population, income and deprivation profile of where it operates.
How up to date is the information?
The register is synced daily, 365 days a year. Most filings appear within 24 hours of being published on Companies House, and company statuses (active, dissolved, in liquidation) update as they change.
Can I export data or monitor companies?
Yes. Export company records and search results to CSV in bulk, or add companies to a watchlist and get alerted by email the moment they file accounts, appoint a director or change status.
